As a Senior Analyst with the Utility and Natural Gas team, Sherry Orton provides quantitative, data-driven analysis of generation economics in US electric markets. She focuses on the impacts of emerging technologies and new regulations on fossil fuel entities.
She has analyzed the impacts of most major environmental regulations for US power plants developed over the past 9 years, and closely follows wholesale energy markets and regulatory developments at the federal and state level.
She first applied her quantitative analysis skills to the energy sector in 2007, when she joined Doyle Trading Consultants after completing a bachelor’s degree in physics at Colorado Mesa University.
Her role at DTC grew and evolved as the company did and in 2013, Sherry was assigned as the Senior Analyst covering the electric power sector and natural gas markets.
